Making Effective Decisions with an iPhone

Making decisions can be hard.  Making good decisions can be even harder.  And making consistent good decisions is harder yet.  It can take a lot of time to make a decision, but if you have a method for making them, and you use that method often, you can get pretty efficient.

Making decisions also involves gathering and tracking information.  Juggling information is not something the brain is good at, but it is something that computers can do.  So, one good way to improve how you make decisions is to use software that implements a reasonable method for decision-making.

One quite well-known method for making decisions is the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP).  And if you use an iPhone, there's a pretty good app that implements AHP, called iDecide+.

I wrote a post about using iDecide+ to help you make decisions at my other blog (before I started DFW).  You can read that post here.
